Your Name Here
Hi, I am The Jake(or gtroc, the G is silent), this whole Idea was the brain child of my friend and I one night. I get depressed easily and this is a chance for me to be to distracted from my hormonal imbalances. I love gaming, I mean I LOVE GAMING. I have been known to game for twelve hours and then talk about gaming for several more after that, it is my favorite thing in the world. I play all sorts of games, and I own even more than that. you name it I have played it, owned it, read it, or heard about it. I am hoping with this forum that I will finally be able to play some games, I like runing them, but it has been over a year since I last sat and played. well that's enough about me, tell us about you!!

The OTHER Admin
I'm Carol, or Akiliana, or the friend who helpped come up with this site or the Admin who does all the work. Whatever you call me, I'm the gal running about behind the scenes trying to keep this forum running. That's about the gist of it.
I'm not as obsessed with gaming as some people are but I enjoy running games. People seem to like that about me. Seems people like playing more than running them. Soooooo...
Yeah.

Re: Your Name Here
Hello, I'm Mike
(Hi Mike)
and I'm a gamer.
My first RPG was in the seventh grade. I had been taught by my church that Dungeons and Dragons was the work of Satan, but they never said anything about Heroes Unlimited, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness, Paranoia, Battletech, ShadowRun, or Nuclear War, so I played all of those and then went and sat in with the drama club on the day the other gamer kids played D&D.
Later on I did learn the truth that D&D was just another game, and that so was MtG, and GURPS, and a whole litany of other games from Give Me the Brain to Family Business.
I'm currently active in Kingdom of Loathing, and play Guild Wars once in a while. Three years ago I moved away from my gaming group and have been feeling the withdrawal ever since. I've GM'd before, and enjoy doing it when I have quest/story ideas to play with (as I currently do with both Eberron and Paranoia), but I also like just participating as one character among the many... usually a support character (Bard, Cleric, Charismatic, Weapon/Armor Smith have all been past character types. I only played a Fighter once and didn't like it as much.).
I'm a sci-fi/fantasy geek BIG time, and on top of that a Modern Lit major, so it's really rare for me to miss a geeky reference.
Oh, and... I'm moving again, in January. Probably clear across the country (I'm in CA now and want to move to PA), so I'm a little hesitant to START a campaign right now for fear it won't be done by moving time... yeah, I build the journeys big when I map them.
Jake: I also swing towards depression now and again, also because of chemical issues. I'm currently taking one med daily to help, although earlier this year I was on two of them because I had gotten extra bad. I hope this place and the people here can help you find some inner tranquility.

Re: Your Name Here
Hi I'm Adrienne, Ada, Velve or MadHatter. I go by a lot of names.
I am one of Jake and Carols friends from way back, when we would hang out in my garage and game all night long till someone had to go to work. Now I rp mostly online or with the small group of friends I have. I story tell on IV aka ImmortalVigilance a white-wolf old world chat site. I also play D&D on the deepest-dark chat. I have found a free online mmorpg called Shaiya that is really good.
A while back I played a marvel post based chat as well as an old starwars post chat. I am excited to get back to some superhero chatting.

Hey, I'm Jack, and I'm a gaming hopeful. I've always wanted to play role playing games- I own rules books, I've read through them and written my own campaigns, but I've never been able to get some friends together to play them. So I came here!

Re: Your Name Here
I'll happily answer to about a dozen different names, depending on the context. Most of the time, when I'm online, I'm Kilbia.
I'm currently in four different campaigns right now. One's being run under HERO 5th edition, one is using White Wolf's Scion: Hero rules, one is a Werewolf (World of Darkness) campaign, and then a friend of mine is running some of us through a 4th-edition D&D published module. The latter has a couple of telecommuters (two of our friends moved to New Jersey but still wanted in on the fun); the others are mostly face-to-face with a little bit of player/DM emailing to knock out personal stuff.
Being in the telecommuting campaign has made me realize that I really don't enjoy it all that much. I think I'd have an easier time if it was FULLY play-by-post, but even then I'd get impatient wondering what will happen next. Heck, I spend a lot of time emailing and chatting with one of my gamer-buddies in the full face-to-face sessions wondering what will happen next 'cause it will be at minimum two weeks between sessions.
I'm mostly here to hang out and be a smart-aleck and throw out random ideas, though if I see a PBP starting under a rules system I already know I might have my interest piqued.

Greetings
Greetings, my name is Justin but you may call me Alucard, or Al for short.
I've been gaming since I was about..oh 9 or 10, with what was available, D&D was in in 2nd edition then? Anywho, I will admit most of my gaming experience has been there, I really got back into gaming when 3rd Ed, that's third edition came out, and again for 3.5 and i glimpsed 4th edition but, no luck. My other gaming forays include, Vampire the Masquerade, Werewolf the Forsaken, Iron Kingdoms, DragonStar, Eberron, and D20 Future, (I believe that is it) I've RP (role-played) a lot online, and love to roleplay on table top but as circumstances are, it's not really available. I have GM/DM games before and am more than willing to offer my services as well as try out new systems. I look forward to meeting you all. Good day or night.

Re: Your Name Here
Hello all, you can call me Icy or Kim, Icy because of my user name and Kim because of my E-mail; the letter something I will hopfully give out soon.
I'm new to this, but after finding myself here, reading everything but the Helpful Link thread; I wish to try it out. I've never done D&D, read the rule books, or know how to build my own person. I've done such things as role play, so I can only hope it will help me in this. Later after I finally look through the Helpful Links thread, crossing my fingers that I'm taught things I will need to know; I will ask questions.
I hope no one will mind taking the time teaching me and helping me catch up? I'm normally not slow in getting things, so please bare with me. I may not wish to join the on going set up at the moment even if I catch up in what is needed of me in time. Still I will do my best to be a long standing member here.

Re: Your Name Here
Hi all! I'm a gamer who goes by many names but the best way to get my attention is Kat, Kate, or Kyatto.
I enjoy gaming just as much as the next guy... I tend to think of myself as a casual gamer. Sometimes I can break out the hardcore geek-talk, but that's how it goes.
I've never *really* played DnD, but I'm trying to get my friends to let me join in on a campaign. They're hesitant.
I was involved with a LARP at my high school, until it went downhill and they killed off my character and I lost my chara-creation muse. So I'm fluent in Geek.
I'm a big rper. I love role play. It's basically my life. I started writing in seventh grade and I haven't stopped since. Currently, I'm a senior in high school and I plan to go to college for Game Design because I believe the industry is running out of material.
And last, but not least, I found this forum on Castle Seige. An LotGD style game with very, very different guts.

Re: Your Name Here
I'm known by a few other names, but I'm fond of Slade, or Sladeside. I came across this place via Akiliana through Facebook and thought I'd check it out.
I've been known to game on occassion, my first being Werewolf the Forsaken. Since then, I've played a couple of other sessions of Exalted and Shadowrun. Within the past couple of years, I've gotten into playing DnD with my husband, his best friend and wife. Unfortunately, due to the traveltime and now a bridge closure between us, we haven't played for a long while now. My husband (we'll call him Raziell) and his best friend (we'll call him Atroxus) have found gaming sancuary on a little game called World of Warcraft where Atroxus and his wife, Elarwen, are leaders of a raiding guild. I've also played WoW for a bit, but recently I've run across a lack of interest/energy. I am just hoping once the bridge reopens in 6 weeks, we will all start a new game of DnD because Atroxus has an expansive library of books, info, figurines, and now room in his new house to be able to play.
I tend to either play a rogue/hunter character at times, sitting back and letting the scene play out while I tiptoe around and sharpshooting with little notice. Other times, I like playing a worrior/physical character, because sometimes one needs to kick down doors to get things started. I've not really had much interest in playing a magic-user because they tend to be too squishy.
