Metropolis

Post by Jake on Sat May 01, 2010 12:26 am

I am currently working on a new
setting based on a few ideas I have been kicking around for a while.
Basically it started when I was watching Metropolis, both the
original German silent film, and the later Anime. While I didn't much
care for the stories in either one of those films, the imagery in
them was very interesting to me. Combined with a few other thoughts I
have had I think I have the beginnings of a decent setting. Now what
to do with it.

Basically, the idea is that seven
beings with godlike power arrive on earth and wipe out every army
sent against them. The humans who side with these powerful beings are
raised above the rest of humanity, and placed in charge. Now mankind
is trapped in eternal servitude to alien powers and the traitors who
rule in their names. They live in a massive city, the rulers live in
massive pleasure gardens at the peaks of the city while the workers
toil in the dark underbelly. And far beneath the city in a massive
tunnel system sits the last of the freemen, never to kneel.

So what do you think? Any ideas?
