I am sorry that I was unable to show up for the post alcoholic 'cast. I didn't have the numbers, I was in the middle of nowhere, I was hungover, my battery was dead, pick an excuse if you need one. I really am sorry though, you can yell at me now...go on, I will wait...wow! you didn't have to yell that much, you made me cry...well no, not really but I do feel bad though.

I hate hypothetical situations, but I will give it a go.

Hero: you are stranded in a strange world. you know none of the locals, and have been attacked by everyone/thing you have met so far. there has been no sign of civilization just miles and miles of forest broken only by the path you are on. the path ends at an odd cave with a door inside. the door is locked. what do you do?

Villain: your plans are nearing completion, soon you will be unstoppable. you hear of a band of heroes traveling through the land doing good deeds. how do you react to/use this information?

Player: you show up ready to go, pencils and paper, mountain dew and chips, the whole nine yards. when you arrive you find out that one of the other players will not be there tonight. their character is crucial to the current plot line. what do you do?

GM: you have spent the last week working on this campaign. you have used all of your spare time, you are proud of the world you have crafted, you have come up with amazing plot hooks aimed at each character specifically. the players arrive, and they are totally unprepared, they kill everything, don't pay attention to any important events, focusing instead on mindless minutiae. they have forgotten their own characters back story, and so that plot hook you wrote in doesn't get used, or even noticed. they destroy your house, leaving cheese nips and spilled mountain dew everywhere. then at the end of the session they gripe at you that your GM style has slipped recently, and you should work on that. what do you do?

so there...

Girls vs. Boys

Post by Carol on Thu Apr 16, 2009 12:41 am

This week we'll be doing a podcast of boys vs/ girls in the RPG world we have 4 scenarios under the following headings.

Girl Hero action vs. Boy Hero Action
Girl Villan action vs boy villan action
Girl Player Action vs Boy Player action
Girl GM action vs. Boy GM action

I propose the following:

Hero Action: There is a crying baby in the middle of the woods with no clue as to how he got there. He is wearing a garment that suggests he belongs to the royal family who has been known to behead first and ask questions later. Do you return the child even though the monarchs may accuse you of kidnapping?

Villan: A captured member of the heroes' team offers him/herself to you in exchange for his/her freedom. When you accept their offer they burst into tears saying that they cannot fulfill their offer because they are madly in love with the hero. How do you use this to your advantage?

Player: Another player of your own gender has copied stat for stat a character of yours from a previous game, at the same time they are flirting with a player you have liked for a while. What do you do?

GM: Your players are trying to be "cute" by ignoring your attempts at point them in the right direction and making rediculous actions bringing your temper to a boil. Just when you can't take much more one of your gamers decided they want to not only seduce an NPC but want a description of what happens shold they succeed. How do you deal with this?
